Girl Talk

koodos.com recently offered customers the opportunity to chat in real time with Rebekah Roy, a celebrated fashion stylist and wardrobe consultant. It was a huge success and great to hear what was on everyone’s mind.

One thing came through loud and clear: no one knows what to wear to the office Christmas party. Far from being a fun time, this annual fete’s a big stress! We heard from women who feel fine dressing for work, but feel very out of place outside of the definition of ‘professional attire’. True, it can be tricky to find something dressy but not over-the-top; fun but not frivolous, well made but not outrageously expensive. But it’s certainly not impossible [check out some of our favorites, below].

Here are some things to consider:

  • Spruce up an outfit you already own by adding colored stockings, a big cocktail ring and a patent leather clutch- wear higher heels than you might otherwise [but make sure you can still walk in them];
  • Add a nice cardigan to an outfit you might be afraid is too revealing; you can always take it off later.

Regardless of what you actually wear, Rebekah made the point that it all comes down to confidence. We’ve all heard a million times that it’s not what you wear but how you wear it – and it’s true. So get out there and wear it like you mean it!
