Basso & Brooke - LFW

Inspired by architecture, photography, landmarks and unique perspectives, the Basso and Brooke show exuded a rich collection of volume, structure and of course their renowned prints. Long woollen coats opened the show, including a mocha, cream and brown patchwork version expertly tailored in appearance. Outfits were topped with oversized printed or embellished hats by Stephan Jones (their loyal friend and co-conspirator) and teamed with electric red tights and printed ankle boots. Exuberant and vibrant as ever.

Covetable pieces included the bell-shaped coats with nipped in waists and puff ball sleeves, however the poncho style polo neck top, constructed entirely of video tape, stole the show as it shimmered in the light and took us back to the days of cassettes and VCRs.

Partnered as they are with Alberta Ferretti’s goliath production company, AEFFE Basso & Brooke are able to literally create what their heart desires –and more importantly these days – supply it. Printed hats off to this dynamic duo.
