Longer lasting looks

Bargainista_womanWith the credit crunch in full swing, we are all looking for ways to stretch the pound. Here are a few tips that could come in handy.

  • Buy quality clothing, shoes, and bags. They last longer and you will enjoy them more. You will have that Prada blouse ages after you have to bin that Top Shop dress.
  • Travel to work with your best shoes in shoe bags. The bargainistas in New York have taught us that your beautiful Jimmy Choos will last longer if not subjected to the wear and tear of city life.
  • If you love a jacket, and it needs an update, try new buttons, if you are daring try mismatched buttons. It shows your creativity and gives you a new look.
  • Resole those shoes to make them last longer. Don’t think for a minute that you are being frugal—my shoemaker resoles Madonna’s shoes, and she has plenty of pairs in her cupboard.

Sounds SO dumb but I never even thought of my shoes being resoled before a week ago but it’s such a good idea! Spend $30 to fix your shoes or spend $100 at least on a new pair? I got two resoled last weekend.
