Recently this shop has become a popular hang out for trendy teenagers. As a result there are hardly any good products left, while it still has the same price brackets as other vintage stores in Shoreditch, £15 for men’s printed t-shirts.

Revive

Revive’s customers are clearly a disparate bunch. The store takes in clothes on a commission basis and its customers appear to range from high fashion size 8s to middle market shoppers.

Regular sample sales take place here. A large open space lined with sale racks filled with clothes organised into colours and sizes, making it quite easy to shop.

In full bloom on a Sunday when it is packed with stalls that sell anything from old records to handmade organic cakes to splendid dresses. The indoor market has recently been renovated and is now a wonderfully clean and aesthetically pleasing space.

This swap shop sells non-designer children’s clothes. Clothes from Asda cost about £3-£5 and the shop was in the middle of nowhere, not worth visiting.

We visited this store twice and on both occasions there was a ‘back in five minutes’ sign so we can’t recommend it.

Sclater Street is just off the end of Brick Lane and if you’re in the area it’s worth wandering down. The shops mainly sell new merchandise, but for about a tenner in Superette you can get a fun and trendy accessory.

The Laden Showroom

Not quite a market but definitely not a department store, this indoor collection of small stores has quite a unique layout. It is the kind of place where there is something for everyone and is good for basics. There was a wide range of styles, simple cuts and colours.

Sells some great eco-friendly recycled pieces, but at £100 apiece they are not really bargains. We did, however, love the pants to poverty boxers and sweets for children in need, so if you’re in the neighbourhood we recommend you pop in and spend your money on a worthwhile cause.

This is the best of the Shoreditch vintage bunch. The upstairs is full of the most amazing items, such as glass bottles, which are stored in old medical cabinets and there is an astonishing range of clothes that date back to the Victorian decade.
