British Fashion Awards 2008: Nominations are in…

It’s that time of the year again and Agyness must be quaking in her Henry Holland boots, because come November the 25th, the new Model of the Year will be crowned at the prestigious British Fashion Awards, with the nominations being released today.

Of course it is not just models that get all excited about the BF Awards, as the best up and coming designers to watch, red carpet designers, accessories designers and general brands get honoured at the glitzy ceremony.

This year the nominations for best up and coming designers sponsored by Swarovski incdlude: Louise Goldin, a plucky SCM graduate who has been taking the worlds catwalks by storm, Nicholas Kirkwood, Anna Vince and maybe a familiar name, Felder & Felder – who eagle eyed fashion watches will know, only 2 seasons ago this young brand was showing it’s A/W 08 collection at Vauxhall Fashion Scout.

Accessory designers who are setting the scene on fire include: Rupert Sanderson – the new god of the shoe? Should Tamara Mellon at Jimmy Choo be worried?

Red carpet designer nominations – with all the glitz and glamour of the A-list, include: Stella McCartney, Giles and Matthew Williamson. Hmm that’s a difficult choice in my eyes…

The prestigeous Designer Brand of the year award nominations are equally exciting with a difficult decision between: Paul Smith, Agent Provocateur and Jimmy Choo – all in the running.

Of course, the one that gets people excited, Model of the year see’s which British model has made the biggest contribution to the international fashion scene with nomines including: Agy, Lily Donaldson – who has stared on many a catwalk including Vivienne Westwoods 1st showing of her Red Label in London for 9 years last season as well as countless covers, and young, up and coming Jourdan Dunn who in two short years after being spotted, has already walked the catwalks for Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier couture and Alexander McQueen – phew impressive stuff… Agy should be scared.
