eBecks

It’s always hard when you get robbed, but it’s that little bit more heinous when it’s by someone you know. This is exactly the situation the Beckham’s found themselves in over the weekend, when Victoria’s eagle eyed parents spotted what they thought were their daughter and son in law’s possessions on eBay.

After going round to the Beckham’s Hertfordshire mansion to double check, only to discover the same items were missing, Vic’s parents called the police. It turns out that ‘Beckingham Palace’ was indeed pilfered from, but by V and D’s own staff! A 55 year old couple, employed by the superstars as housekeeper and maintenance, were arrested at their home in Essex later that day and are currently being dealt with by local police.

Items that were stolen and attempted to be sold included designer clothing, David Beckham’s football kits and football boots with their children’s names inscribed. Charming.

Non of this is good, it is of course a huge breach of trust, let alone illegal, let alone totally immoral, but what baffles me the most, is that they thought they were never going to get caught?? Stupid much…?

LMVH 1 - eBay 0

louis-vuitton-fake-bag.pngLVMH celebrated a £30m victory over eBay yesterday as the group, composed of Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Donna Karen and Tag Heuer, used their combined fabulousness to take on the online bidding site. eBay was penalised for its lax laws protecting the trade of authentic goods on its site.

Investigations in 2006 revealed that nine out of ten Luis Vuitton bags and Christian Dior items on offer were fake. Frightening statistics for any online bidder who may have to Russian Roulette their way to getting a designer item from a brand they love. If only they had heard of koodos.

Hoorah for the Paris courts who made the ruling which will certainly put a dent in the online trade of fake items in the future.
