Peaches and cream for Agent Provocateur

Monday, June 16th, 2008

peaches-geldof-ppq.jpgPeaches Geldof is reported to be the new face of Agent Provocateur.

With a hunger for fame that has lead her down some questionable paths, snort, this could be the lucky break Peaches has been waiting for. Nothing like being paralleled with Kate Moss to give your career a bit of a boost.

Although recently most commonly recalled as half of DJing duo ‘Trash Pussies’, Peaches has been heralded by some as a fashion icon and famously called Trinny and Susannah (from the self-named show) ‘upper-class bitches with no fashion sense’. There was also much hoo-ha from the last London Fashion Week as Peaches modelled upcoming London label PPQ’s latest collection.

I personally miss what everyone else seems to be going on about as I find her look rather average, dare I say dull? I believe the reason for her latest deal with the lingerie label is more owing to the icon behind the face and body on show - of a young, creative girl from a well-to-do family in her desperate search for fame. That and the fact that her full name is actually Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa Geldof.

The Alternative to London Fashion Week…

Monday, April 21st, 2008

With all the glitz and glamour of London Fashion Week, it is easy to forget about our Capitals other fashion week - The Alternative Fashion Week starting today (21st of April) being held at London’s iconic not to mention trendy, Spitalfields Market.

alt-fashion-week.jpg
The Alternative Fashion Week is an eclectic collection of young, up and coming designers all aiming to display their skills and designs at the east London event. Not only are there daily fashion shows, but like London Fashion Week there are stalls and events for visitors to view / buy the wares and meet some of the designers themselves.

Previous AFW’s have helped to propel the likes of Gareth Pugh and Jasper Garvida into the limelight and in turn onto the catwalks of LFW – So make a date and head down to Spitalfields this week and if you’re lucky, you may just bag your self a designer bargain of the future…
Alternative Fashion Week is at Spitalfields Traders Market, Crispin Place, Brushfield St, London E1 21-25 April.

Inbar Spector - VFS

inbar.jpgBlack, black and more black with a hint of cream - this collection was pared down in its styling to offset the star of the show - the clothes. It was impossible not to notice how exceptionally talented this young Israeli designer is - this her first London catwalk show took place at Vauxhall Fashion Scout. koodos again sat in the front row and witnessed first hand her penchance for corsets, darts, pleats, raised seams and laced backs.

The collection looked like an Edwardian ladies closet who had decided to have a blast in the 21st Century. From sleek bodycon t-shrts and trousers to lantern silhouetted dresses buckled and cinched with canvas belts at the waist.
No doubt about the talent here, however I was reminded of a game of cricket - in that cricket it’s said, is more fun to play than watch. inbar-2.jpginbar-3.jpginbar-4.jpg

We heart London Fashion Week

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

As New York Fashion Week A/W 08 enters its final day, the London fashion scene is in a buzz.

paul-costelloe.jpgThis year’s show schedule promises some fine British design. Designers we’ll have our eye on in the LFW tents include Paul Costelloe (opening the shows for the 5th year in a row), Ben de Lisi, Jaeger London, Paul Smith and Vivienne Westwood.

In the Vauxhaul Fashion Scout (VFS), shows we’re lining up for include Aganovich, Avsh Alom Gur and Felder Felder.

The events in the evening are nothing to be sniffed at with Swarovski, Burberry, Harrods and more hosting cocktail parties and new launches to entertain us in the evenings.

With one foot in the LFW tents, and the other in the VFS tents, koodos will have you covered on the who, what, when’s of the week.
