koodos.com is the UK’s leading online retailer offering stylish brands at very smart prices. The company was established in June 2006 once funding had been confirmed by one of the world’s leading technology VC’s, Atlas Venture.
Backers Atlas Venture then hand picked Miriam Lahage, originally a fashion buyer in New York and LA, to be CEO of koodos.com and so she moved from Boston to London in June 2006.
The company, which had its first presence at London Fashion Week in September 2006, went on to hire Gabriela Vinader, who was previously electronics director for the UK Amazon operation, to head up operations for koodos.
In December 2006, koodos.com was launched to the public and sales began. With the massive customer interest in the first private sale and Chloé selling out in just 12 hours, subsequent private sales were held, featuring Prada, D & G, Gucci and Dior.
From the initial and on-going success since the launch date, the koodos website was expanded in July 2007 in order to accommodate for demand and high future sales. In the same month, koodos then launched international shipping, due to the overwhelming number of customer requests.
Not surprisingly, koodos.com has been hailed a huge success to date, with customers applauding the company in August 2007 in its first customer survey.
